I'd be so happy to see if the 2001 matoran were to return for 2015. I'm sure their names will at least make an appearance, if not a cameo in the story, so I made some of their designs. From left to right: Takua, Jaller, and Hahli. I really didn't go far from their original designs, but I tried making it seem like they belonged in a bionic reboot.
Now, I've been thinking about the whole Protector, "Father-to-son" thing which gets me thinking that... are there now children in bionicle? I think it'd be adorable to see villager children! And I have this sort of idea in my head about how Jaller might be presented. (Of course, this is totally just an idea, not actual canon). Jaller would be the son of the Protector of Fire. I think it fits his role of taking the lead and protecting his village like in the old series. Jaller would probably always keep his eyes on Takua, as a friend and making sure he doesn't get into big trouble. Don't have a clue as to how he and Hahli would meet.
Still, I don't even know if these guys are even coming back. All I can do is hop for now. (I have a strong belief though that at least a few of them are coming back). Anyways, have a good day, Christmas is almost here!

I really like your Okoto designs. (a lot better than the g1 ones actually. That doesn't mean they're bad, but that you've gotten a lot better.)
I'd love to see some more named villagers in g2. Maybe next year we'll get more development for the villages. It's implied that the baby fire villager might be Takua, or serve a similar role to Takua, but we're still not sure.
